It turns what we have into enough, and more.”

Explore Relaxation Through Yin and Yoga Nidra

Unlike vinyasa practices, the practice of yin yoga works on our deep tissues, keeping our joints healthy. It is also a deeply meditative practice with each pose being held for several minutes. Props are used to support the body in a way that allows for deepening into the pose as the muscles relax. This intimate practice requires us to go deep within ourselves, acknowledging sensations and emotions.

Yoga nidra, or yoga sleep, is defined as a state of sleep with trace awareness, a state that induces deep relaxation. This deeply meditative state is achieved using a guided meditation technique designed to move you through the five koshas, or layers of your being. It is believed that when practiced to it’s fullest capacity, yoga nidra can be a pathway to Samadhi, a state of higher consciousness.

Both practices have many physical and mental benefits-- decreased stress response, decreased anxiety, improved digestion, improved blood circulation and pain reduction to name a few.

In this workshop we will explore the origins, philosophy and many benefits of both of these meditative practices. You will have an opportunity to fully experience both practices as well as learn techniques that you can incorporate into your daily lives.

Holiday Healing Practices

While the holiday season is full of joy, gratitude and giving, it can also leave us feeling stressed, depleted and overwhelmed. Take a pause from the hustle and bustle to give yourself the gift of peace, relaxation and wellness. If you've never experienced these 3 practices together - Restorative Yoga, Reiki and Mediation - you are in for a treat!

We'll slow everything down to balance out the busy-ness of the season by enjoying a restorative yoga sequence with the addition of deep meditative breathing. This will relax the body, quiet the mind and on a cellular level, calm the nervous system, lowering stress-related hormones and jump-starting the body's natural healing processes. Susan, a master-level Reiki practitioner, will offer her gifts as an energy worker throughout the yoga practice, helping to diffuse any energy, thoughts, emotions or physical tensions that might feel stuck or heavy. Once we've got the body open and our energy flowing more freely, we'll experience a special meditation to leave you feeling wonderfully present and peaceful in body, mind and spirit as you head into the holidays and the new year!

Yoga Nidra + Gratitude Journal Making

Relax your body, awaken your innate creativity and deepen the quality of gratitude within!

We all possess innate creativity, whether we recognize it or not. Oftentimes we allow our busy minds to block yur ability to tap into the wells of ideas, dreams, passions and projects that reside within, just waiting to be brought to life!

Yoga Nidra has been used for hundreds of years as a powerful, guided meditation technique to produce a dream-like state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. This systematic method is capable of inducing the deepest possible state of physical, mental and emotional relaxation. When you enter into this state, you are able to connect more deeply to your true nature and inner peace. From that place, you can access Alpha brain activity, which has been proven to reduce stress, evoke deeper feelings of appreciation and spark creativity.

This workshop will focus on exploring the philosophy and origin of Yoga Nidra as well as experiencing the benefits of a yoga nidra for yourself. Following the practice, you will be guided through the process of creating and binding your own gratitude journal to support you in manifesting more of the powerful energy of gratitude in your life.

Investment: $35 GoYoga Members: $45 Non-Members

Intro to Meditation Series

Intro to Meditation Series

Dates: 9/10, 9/17 and 9/24 from 8:30-9:15

Studies show that over time, a daily 10-15 meditation practice reduces symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and anger, while improving quality of life, ability to focus and overall physical and mental well-being. Just like with anything new, learning to incorporate meditation into your everyday life takes knowledge, practice and commitment. While this practice is inherently simple, it's easy to be uncertain about how and where to begin and also to think your meditation should look and feel a certain way. All of these can get in the way of people actually starting a daily mindfulness practice and reaping the incredible life-altering benefits that come as a result. Throughout the series I will break down some simple steps and tools you can use outside of the yoga studio to lower your stress, hone in your focus and improve the state of your overall health. There will be ample time for questions and discussion to ensure you leave with a solid understanding of how you can take these powerful practices out into the rest of your life.

Session 1: Developing Awareness

Session 2: Developing Inner Qualities

Session 3: Developing Clarity Through Visualization

Investment: Full series $33.75 for GoYoga Members or $45 for Non-Members; Single session: $15 each

SPRING HEALING PRACTICES

SPRING HEALING PRACTICES

Spring is a time of awakening and blossoming, a time when the earth and our bodies reawaken from winter's hibernation, and our energy warms and becomes more expansive. As we all experience these changes externally, it is essential to integrate them internally. The gentle approach of Reiki is a perfect support during a time of change and rebirth.

The practice of Reiki transfers divine energy from the universe through the practitioner to the receiver. It moves energy through the body and activates the natural healing processes of the body, restoring physical and emotional well-being. In this workshop, you will discover the power of Reiki through restorative yoga poses, meditation and pranayama techniques. Hands on Reiki will be offered throughout the practice. . Join Cindy Lilly, ERYT500 and I for an evening of Bliss!

All props will be provided and will be sanitized prior to the workshop. Space is limited to 15 in order to maintain social distancing requirements.

Investment: $37.50 GoYoga members; $45 non-members.
